Rescue in Bangalore India

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Last year IJM's (International Justice Mission) teams helped rescue 2,266 people from slavery in India—and they have begun this year with the same spirit of tenacity. IJM Bangalore just helped rescue nearly forty people from slavery in a single brick factory.

An IJM lawyer leader the families out of the brick factory
"The slaves worked around the clock—up to 20 hours a day. Children as young as 8 were working right alongside the adults. They were under constant supervision and forbidden from leaving for any reason. When our social worker met the families inside the factory, she was stunned by their swollen hands and open wounds from the hard labor.
It’s hard enough to imagine working 20 hours a day, let alone what it must be like to watch your 8-year-old working right beside you. I’m so grateful that the families rescued this week are on their way home right now, beginning to dream of a new future." Read more here.

Praise God that they were rescued!  People just like you and me are now able to thrive because of those who have supported IJM!  Stand with me and others  in the fight against slavery, so we can see more amazing rescues like this one.  Donate here.

Braiding for Freedom - January 31st - Last day of 'Braiduary'...

January 31st!!!  The last day!!!

crown braid and braided side bun

Okay, so the total number of braids I've had in my hair this month is 178!  Crazy right?  I didn't even know I could do that! :)

And the money I was able to raise for 'Braiduary' is 107.50!!!!  That's not even counting the money raised by the other young women who did this challenge!  The grand total will be announced soon...

I'm so excited to see what God is doing though this and I can't wait to see what else he has in store!

Thanks to all of you that have showed so much support, your gifts will go to help IJM  (International Justice Mission) in 2014 to reach their goals and give rescue to those in bonds.

Don't miss a single braid!

Though the braiding is over, it's not to late to give.
