Here is the story of Mala, a young girl not much older than me, who was trapped in this brothel:
"When she was just barely out of childhood, Mala was trafficked into a horrific brothel—one of the most violent we've ever seen. She was raped by as many as 20 men every day, beaten, humiliated and abused. Mala lost any hope of escape: "There are only two ways to get out of this brothel," she said. "You either get sold to another brothel, or you die.""
"But there was another way. Our IJM team uncovered the brutal trafficking ring. The powerful man behind it—a trafficker named Nakul Bera—seemed unstoppable, but we refused to give up on Mala. After
six attempts, we were finally able to rescue her."

Mala stood up to Bera in court, and because of her brave testimony he was put in jail. Praise the Lord! Now, hundreds of girls like Mala will be protected. But there are still others who are trapped. There are still more brothels like this one, and there more traffickers like Nakul Bera, who will force girls and young women to do things they should never have to do.
